The Types Of Wireless Charging - Does Wireless Charging have a Future?

Wireless charging is really one of the technology that I really want it to see succeed but really the smartphone users haven't become enamored with it yet. 
May be one of the reasons behind it is the competing standards. So what are those competing standards and what is the future of wireless charging well, let me explain.

Wireless charging is one of the features that are found in flagship smartphones but the manufactures really don't make a huge fuss about it, it is in the galaxy top end smartphones even some versions of the LG G6 have wireless charging in it but really there is not a big fuss about it now one of the reasons is that there are 3 competing companies that are trying to push their wireless charging technology forward.

Now in the background one of the biggest thing that happened this year is the Apple joined the wireless power consortium. Now the fact is that Apple joined the consortium now and there are rumors that Apple iPhone 8 will be housing the wireless charging technology .
Ones the Apple iPhone fans said - if the iPhones support it then everybody will support it and I don't think that may be the case because it's all about different types of wireless charging technologies which differs by "distance" i.e. how much far we have to be from the wireless charging station.
Now the one which is most popular today is QI Company which has two different types of system.
1. Within 7 mm of range with Wireless Charging Pad
This type is found in the Samsung flagship devices like S6.

2. Resonant Charging- Allow the devices to be at distance upto 45 mm which is nearly about 1.6 or 1.7 inches. It is very good when you have chargers built into desk of the office or furniture and you just put your phone above the desk and it starts charging while you take rest on your chair or do your job.

3. WattUp Wireless Charging Technology- They allow the devices to be not in contact with any surface and can be at about 15 feets distance which is really so much amazing thing. So can charge while you walk and Apple is rumored to be working with this organisation.

Now one thing we all hate is the competing standards which means that you invest in one and the other day you find out that other did become the boss. 
So it would be better if these organisations work together.

The one thing that is not present in the technology is that the communication capabilities and the best solutions can be like using the NFC together with Qi charging or may be to have some kind of bluetooth enabled and wouldn't it be great where you have wireless charging going on with the communication over it too and that would be the thing that would make the wireless charging take off and that would be the technology that we all want in our smartphones.
